Let Me Google That For You
Written on November 1, 2011 by Garland Coulson
We often say there are “no stupid questions,” but often in forums someone comes in and asks a question that is, well…stupid.
You know the type. The question is one that could have been figured out in a 5 second Google search rather than posting a question on a forum and waiting for people to waste time replying to what should have never been asked.
Recently, while in a forum where I came across one of these questions, I nearly spit out my coffee when I read the masterful reply another post had made by offering to “Let Me Google That For You.“
“Let Me Google That For You” is a funny web site that you go to and type in any key word or phrase. It then creates a link to send to the person that shows a Google search that types in the keyword and then clicks on “Search” or them. For example, if someone asks “Why is the sky blue?, it would create a link like http://lmgtfy.com/?q=why+is+the+sky+blue%3F.
Go ahead and try it – it is a fun way to reply to questions where the person should be doing a search themselves.

Hi Garland,
Thanks for the Let Me Google That For You resource!
Finally, an end to stupidly unnecessary questions that could be answered
from just a simple Google search.
It will save many people from looking foolish and also anchor whatever they learned
so much more than if someone just fed them the information.
Your are wonderful for taking the time to share it!
