You NEED A CopyWriter
When it is time to sell products or services online, most people start looking for a web designer. But a good web designer only creates a graphically pleasing web site with the content YOU provide.
Content Is King
The content is MORE important than the look of the web site. Continue reading! »

Many so-called Internet marketing “guru’s” are selling “autopilot” niche packages that claim people new to Internet marketing can find profitable niche markets and set up multiple web sites for multiple niches and make quick money.
Unfortunately for most people, these autopilot niche packages are recipes for failure. Continue reading! »

Social media is taking the Internet marketing world by storm.
Facebook has more daily traffic than Google. Twitter has over 200,000,000 users. And YouTube members have uploaded move video content in the last 60 days than have been created by the broadcasting industry in the last 60 years!
So obviously everyone should be using social media, right?
Well maybe. But what if you “just aren’t social?” What if you are quiet, shy or want to stay in the background? Do you have to lose out on all the marketing benefits of social media?
Here are some tips for you if you are struggling to become more social or you know you could never become a social media star.

All Twitter followers are not created equal.
The best Twitter follower for you would have the following characteristics.
- large network of their own followers
- regularly posts and retweets on your topic
- is seen as a trusted leader in your field
A single Twitter follower like this will have more of an impact for you than 1000 average followers because they will engage with your more and may retweet your posts to their own followers. So lets talk about how to find these Super Twitter Followers.

Two popular supernatural creatures – powerful and tough to kill. But, given a choice, I’d rather be a vampire than a zombie. Here’s why.
Communication: Zombies only speak a few words, Vampires have a cool, cultured European accent.
Speed: Vampires move faster than humans – Zombies shamble. Important difference when you really need to make that commuter bus before it leaves.
Diet: Vampires drink from the neck of nubile young women, just above their heaving bosoms. Zombies eat, well…brains.
Sex: When you are a vampire, women fall swooning at your feet with your hypnotic presence. It appears vampires may be able to have sex. When you are a Zombie, women run screaming. And the body parts you need for sex may fall off.
Intelligence: A vampire retains it’s intelligence and has years to accumulate more knowledge. No matter how many brains it eats, a Zombie is a moron by comparison.
Flight: Not only are vampires faster, they can also transform into a bat and fly and avoid the commuter bus altogether.
Long Life: While both are tough to kill, zombies seem to die handily from shotguns and their slow, shambling gait seems to make them targets. The greater speed of the vampire combined with money for better hiding places and hiring helpers seems to make the average life of a vampire much longer than a zombie.
So that’s why I would rather be a vampire than a zombie. A little off my usual topics, but sometimes the mind wanders.

Just got back from Victoria Social Media Bootcamp #SMCV11 and thought I would put down my impressions while they are still fresh. While I have been to many Internet marketing conferences, this is my first one dedicated solely to social media. But my attendance at other Internet marketing conferences gives me a good base for comparison.
First, the good points:
1. Networking – Events like this are a great way to network to find potential partners, clients and even friends who share the same interests you do. Of course, with networking, your success depends on how much you put into it. But, with over 650 people at the event and lots of time for networking, no one could say there weren’t enough people to talk to. One thing I did find is that there were a LOT of web designers, Internet marketers and social media consultants there. So a great opportunity to network, but not as many actual potential clients as I would have thought.
I give it a 9 out of 10 for networking opportunities – only because there were less potential clients there and more social media professionals than I would have thought.

Sitting in my hotel room, thinking about what I want to accomplish at the Victoria Social Media Boot Camp tomorrow.
I have been to a number of Internet marketing conferences, but never one solely for Social Media, so I am excited. My main goal is to see what other Internet marketers are doing so I can learn more to be able to share these ideas and success with my community of students, clients, blog and social media followers.
I may also find some strategic partnerships amongst these fellow Internet marketers. And if I do get a client or two, that would be a bonus.
But first and foremost, I want to come away with ideas to help the people I reach.
I’ll update you all as to how the conference goes.

The amount of videos on YouTube is amazing. Entertainment, “how-to’s”, music – it’s all there, available to watch anytime over your Internet connection.
But at some point, you might want to save a YouTube video. Here is how I save YouTube Videos on my computer and move them to mobile devices.

Just registered for a Social Media Bootcamp workshop coming up in Victoria BC. My readers often ask me if Internet marketing conferences are worth the money and time, so I thought I would share my thoughts on this.
For those of you who haven’t attended an Internet marketing conference yet, they are usually multi-day conferences with multiple speakers on Internet marketing. This is different than a workshop with a single Internet marketer teaching in-depth sessions all day. Some “bootcamps” are workshops and some are more like conferences, so you can’t tell by the name. You can tell by looking at how many speakers they have.
So are they worth it? Here is my take based on the conferences I have attended…

I am setting up an online Internet Mentorship program (like an online course) and I have chosen to build it with Joomla 1.6.
Free members will get the first level course and pro members (paid) will get access to the full course. I would like members to earn affiliate commissions when they refer others to the program as well.
I would love to hear from others who are using Joomla as a paid/free membership web site as to how it has worked for you and what extensions you have found worked best.
Here are the features that I will need to include.
