Here are some tools I use for analyzing web sites.

Whois Search – search to make sure your domain is registered to you, not your web designer.

Alexa ranks web sites based on traffic. Not a perfect tool, but somewhat useful if you are thinking of advertising on a web site.

Marketing Grader – grades your web site on a range of marketing aspects, including SEO, blogging, incoming links and social media.

Search Grader – grades your web site on search engine readiness.

Google Keyword Research Tool – make sure your web site is optimized for high traffic words people are searching for.

Google Page Speed – make sure your customers aren’t waiting for your site to load.

Internet Seer – a free service that monitors your web site’s down time and lets you know if your web site fails.
